Transformation of Association into a self-regulated organization was discussed.

The Law on Self-Regulated Organizations (SRO) in Russian Federation entered in power in 2007. It aims to ensure drastic reform of business regulation and to diminish government participation in this process. SRO will substitute licensing and become compulsory in certain industries.  Vladimir Sergeev, Chairman of the Board, is appointed to represent Association in Moscow government organizations full-time. 

Meeting participants unanimously agreed that Russian Association of Marine and River Bunker Suppliers should apply for associate membership in Association of Shipping Companies*. It was recognized that it would improve efficiency of solving industry problems.

The meeting also considered and made decisions on current organizational expenses. 

*Brief summary: Association of Shipping Companies was established in February 2004. At present its membership reached 50 including leading Russian shipping companies which provide about 70% of total oil and oil products transhipment, 90% of river transportation services and above 50% of bulk transportation services.
